THE ROLE:
The Product Development Group is looking for dynamic and energetic Product / Yield Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies used for Datacenter, Machine Learning, and High-Performance Computing. This position involves a wide range of activities including Software infrastructure development, database design and support, Manufacturing Software support, high-speed system designs, test and characterization lab equipment support, and debugging complicated system level problems. The team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a member of the Product Development Group, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Yield analysis to improve supply and reduce cost of production, with a strong focus on product test program-related failures.
- Ensure that correct product testing is performed on AMD products for optimal yield, performance, and quality.
- Coordinate with teammates and product test teams to support quick in-depth product test program debug
- Fix identified problems by driving corrective actions.
- Engineers will be expected to bring a great deal of innovation and creativity to the role.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong experience in the related field.
- Strong data analysis skills are required to be effective in this role.
- Proficiency in coding/scripting is necessary to develop and automate custom analysis algorithms
- Strong attention to details and an ability to learn on the job.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentations skills.
- Ability to design experiments and analyze results to solve problems
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics or semiconductor manufacturing is an asset
- Understanding of SOC product test methods for automated test equipment and System-level testing is an asset.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- A BSc, BSEE, or a degree in Math, Physics, or Statistics
