The Role:

As Product Manager in the Semi Custom business unit, you will be the primary conduit between the external customer and AMD internal business, technical and operations teams. You will run all aspects of a semi-custom business, including: customer and supplier interaction strategy, contract negotiations with customers, developing and driving business forecasts and plans, developing and delivering product roadmaps in partnership with the engineering teams, and ensuring continuous supply.

 

The Person:

You have outstanding communication and presentation skills, strong analytical/problem-solving and program management skills. You are self-directed, a strategic thinker, able to handle complexity and ambiguity. Finally, you are able to work effectively and manage through influence in a cross-functional/matrixed organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage closely with Customers, other AMD Business Units, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Finance and Legal teams to bring the product to market and to support the product once the product is launched
  • Manage product definition (Cost, Power, Features, Performance, Schedule) in line with business and customer goals
  • Manage the product P&L to maximize revenue and profit margins while ensuring product performs at or better than target
  • Drive Product cost reduction initiatives
  • Work across cross-functional teams as the voice of the customer, routinely collaborating with and influencing colleagues in Business Development, Operations, and Engineering
  • Assist in contract negotiations and change orders requested by the customer

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in product management, program management, or product marketing for semiconductors or high performance computing/graphics
  • Experience defining MRD/PRD, building business cases, building roadmaps, and running execution with cross functional core teams
  • Demonstrate knowledge in computer systems or similar products, CPU/GPU, silicon process technology or other silicon design/methodology experience
  • Experience developing strong collateral and presenting to executives
  • Experience managing large customer programs (within time and budget)
  • Familiar with procurement/supply chain is a plus
  • Negotiation experience is a plus
  • Experience with running a P&L
  • Willing and able to travel (up to 20%) internationally

  

Academic Credentials:

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in relevant field
