THE PERSON: 

We are looking for a performance optimization engineer with strong analytical and hands-on skills. The person will collaborate closely with customers to solve performance challenges on AMD EPYC processors. This role is highly cross-functional and customer-facing, requiring excellent teamwork and communication to translate performance insights into measurable product and business impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

-Serve as the subject matter expert for x86 server performance analysis and optimization on AMD EPYC-based platforms, driving power/performance tuning across BIOS, firmware, OS, and application layers

-Profile and resolve system-level performance bottlenecks across compute, memory, storage, and network I/O (e.g., NUMA placement, PCIe topology, NVMe, NIC throughput, interrupts, RDMA)

- Partner with FAE and product marketing teams to reproduce issues, drive root-cause analysis, and deliver timely fixes and performance gains

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

- Hands-on performance verification using industry benchmarks and synthetic workloads (e.g., MLPerf, SPEC CPU/SPECjbb/SPEC power, STREAM, FIO, iperf/OSU)

-Strong Linux performance engineering skills, including perf, numactl, tuned and CPU power

-Virtualization expertise (KVM/QEMU, libvirt), including vCPU pinning, huge pages, IOMMU; familiarity with DPDK/RDMA/RoCE is a plus

- Excellent English written and verbal communication and the skill to distill complex analyses into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences

-Self-starter who can independently scope work, execute, and deliver measurable results with attention to detail

- Experience with GPU performance validation, AI/ML training and inference workloads on datacenter CPU+GPU systems is a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years in server performance optimization or related areas.
