THE ROLE: 

AMD's Computing & Graphic group is responsible advanced CPU, GPU and gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon Power and Performance Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring our custom silicon products meet power and performance targets and are optimized for customer use cases. You will interact with architecture, software, manufacturing, and other teams to develop a deep understanding of the product power requirements and guide your team to develop and execute studies and testcases to validate that the product meets specifications.

 

THE PERSON: 

We are looking for a technical leader with extensive experience managing teams involved with x86, ARM, or GPU hardware or firmware development with a passion for power validation and optimization spanning low-power mobile to console-level devices. This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for power and performance attainment and optimization of AMD's silicon products.
  • Own validation and tuning of power functionality and targets, collaborating with manufacturing and customer engineering to enable production.
  • Develop deep expertise in existing and new power features for AMD products.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide them through the planning and execution phases of post-silicon power attainment and optimization efforts.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5-10 years' experience managing a technical team
  • Technical experience leading large post-silicon validation and tuning efforts.
  • Direct experience working on CPU, APU, or GPU power or performance feature validation.
  • Industry experience in x86, ARM, or GPU hardware or firmware development.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver large cross-functional technical deliverables.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-site technical organization.
  • Experience working directly with external customers and partners.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
