THE ROLE: 

AMD's Computing & Graphic group is responsible advanced CPU, GPU and gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon System Validation Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring our custom silicon products meet feature, stability and compatibility targets and are optimized for customer use cases. You will interact with architecture, software, manufacturing, and other teams to develop a deep understanding of the product requirements and guide your team to develop and execute studies and testcases to validate that the product meets specifications.

 

THE PERSON: 

We are looking for a technical leader with extensive experience managing teams involved with x86, ARM, or GPU hardware or firmware development with a passion for system validation and optimization spanning low-power mobile to console-level devices. This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Partner with multiple geo leaders to drive successful productization for ASICs executed in Penang and support as needed programs executed in other regions.
  • Enhance Collaborations across teams inside and outside organization
  • Coach and grow a technically skilled set of engineers and engineering managers
  • Drive decision making around conflicting priorities and complex issue resolution
  • Set team goals aligned with organization objectives and ensure employee development plans in place
  • Build and grow relationships with key stakeholders including silicon design, software development, program management, system engineering, business units and customer engineering teams
  • Focus on team growth from both technical and leadership point of view
  • Support and interface with customer engineering teams and customers are required
  • Communicate status to senior management and other relevant stakeholders

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5-10 years' experience managing a technical team
  • Technical experience leading large post-silicon validation and tuning efforts.
  • Direct experience working on CPU, APU, or GPU power or performance feature validation.
  • Industry experience in x86, ARM, or GPU hardware or firmware development.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver large cross-functional technical deliverables.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-site technical organization.
  • Experience working directly with external customers and partners.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
