THE ROLE
The Accounting Manager is a key role within the Greater China Finance organization, responsible for end‑to‑end accounting and close activities for Greater China Region, with a primary focus on statutory accounting, and local financial reporting.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely month‑end and quarter‑end close, compliance with PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and local statutory requirements, and high‑quality support for audits, tax filings, and internal stakeholders. The Accounting Manager works closely with regional and global finance teams, shared service centers, and cross‑functional partners to maintain strong controls, data integrity, and continuous process improvement.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, technically strong accounting professional with solid experience managing PRC legal entity accounting and revenue recognition in a multinational environment.
They are comfortable operating in a matrix, fast‑paced organization, can independently handle complex accounting issues, and are able to translate global policies into local execution. This individual demonstrates strong ownership, attention to detail, and sound judgment, while also proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance efficiency through systems and automation.
Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English, the ability to partner effectively with global teams, and a collaborative, solution‑oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GC Legal Entity Accounting & Close
- Own and manage month‑end and quarter‑end close activities for Greater China legal entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and company accounting policies
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and close deliverables, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper supporting documentation
- Perform and review complex accounting activities, including accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions, foreign currency matters, and non‑standard transactions
- Prepare and review local statutory financial statements and related schedules in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Compliance, Controls & Audit
- Drive and maintain internal controls and SOX‑related activities within assigned areas, including process documentation, control execution, and remediation of identified gaps
- Serve as a key contact for external auditors and internal audit, coordinating audit requests and ensuring timely, accurate responses
- Support local tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements in collaboration with Tax and external advisors
Cross‑functional & Global Collaboration
- Act as a primary accounting contact for Greater China business partners, Shared Service Team, and global corporate accounting on complex or judgmental matters
- Support special projects, system implementations, and business initiatives as needed
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance close efficiency, data quality, and control effectiveness
- Participate in system enhancements and automation initiatives, including SAP, Blackline, and other finance tools
- Support standardization and optimization of accounting processes in line with global best practices
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid understanding of PRC GAAP and US GAAP, with practical experience applying accounting standards in a multinational environment
- Prior experience in public accounting or a multinational corporation in Semiconductor or high-tech industry is strongly preferred
- Hands‑on experience with SAP and Blackline is a plus
- Experience leveraging automation or AI-enabled tools to drive process improvements, automation, or system optimization initiatives
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, results‑driven, and a strong team player
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, China CPA, or equivalent professional certification is preferred
