THE ROLE: 

You are a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. Joining a core team of incredibly talented Gamedev specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology. 

You work will involve both manual QA testing and validation automation.  If you love playing video games, tinkering with hardware, and 3D graphics, this role will put you at the center of real-world graphics engineering and product integration.  You'll collaborate with experienced engineers to validate, integrate, and optimize FSR across engines, platforms, and GPUs, contributing to features that ship to game developers and end users.  

 

YOU: 

Are passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  You will bring an innovative and problem-solving mindset, with foundational Python programming skills combined with experience in manual testing and automated tests development, and is passionate about graphics technolgy and AI, with a commitment to continuos learning.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Test and verify compatibility and performance of 3D games on AMD's Radeon family of graphics and Ryzen family of CPUs
  • Perform Validation and QA testing of key features:
    • FSR SDK
    • FSR Upscaling
    • FSR Frame Generation
    • FSR Ray Regeneration
    • Future AI/ML FSR technologies
  • Work with AMD's reseach specialists to improve future products  
  • Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts 
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture 
  • Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work 
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners
  • Create and maintain automated integration tests and validation CI/CD workflows to ensure visual quality, non-regression, stability, and performance across features, models, driver versions, OSes and graphics hardware. 

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Gaming QA experience with gaming studio
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and/or Android operating system development  
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred 
  • Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail 
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or equivalent related technical discipline.
