The Role: 

We are seeking an engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking are well-suited for our team. The right candidate will be technically informed with deep understanding of HW-SW co-development to provide consultative direction to senior management. This is a high visibility and high deliverable quality role.

 

The Person

AMD Datacenter org is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to drive fuse alignment across various platforms teams. This person will work closely with Designers, SoC Architects, Firmware teams, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure fuse programming, supporting new features with innovative fuse solutions, silicon bring-up across multiple product lines. You will be involved in all areas that impact the team including performance, automation, and development. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain target fuse settings while collaborating with architecture, designers, firmware teams, product engineering, etc.
  • Support various Silicon lifecycle by providing fuse settings to various platform teams
  • Key member to any Silicon Bring-up activities
  • Collaborate with various validation teams to fine tune early Silicon to IP
  • Work closely with product engineering for successful first fusing and work closely during various product phase
  • Collaborate with pre-Silicon emulation teams with target fuse settings and work closely for any root cause analysis
  • Work closely with Power and Performance team to support fine tuning the product
  • Lead Automation efforts to help optimize fuse infrastructure and validation methodologies
  • Create technical documentation, specifications, and validation reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals and digital circuit design.
  • In-depth understanding of System Architecture
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and characterization
  • Experience with eFuse, fuse repair, or non-volatile memory technologies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing fusing flow, various validation and test methodologies, root cause analysis
  • Understanding of Power and Performance correlation
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced process nodes (7nm, 5nm, 3nm, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Fuse flow and over all platform interactions of CPU/GPU with other IOs
  • Strong HW–SW co-development knowledge
  • Fuse repair flow understanding
  • Experience with ATE platforms and production test environments.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools and semiconductor manufacturing flows.
