THE ROLE
As a Field Application Engineer (FAE), you will play a key role within AMD's Embedded Technical Sales team, supporting customers across the Nordic region. You'll work at the forefront of adaptive computing technologies (FPGA, SoC, and x86), partnering directly with leading companies across industries such as Industrial, Datacenter, Robotics, Healthcare, and Aerospace & Defense.
This is a highly customer-facing role where you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and decision-makers to bring innovative solutions to life. You'll combine deep technical expertise with a consultative mindset, helping customers solve complex challenges and unlock the full potential of AMD technologies. Along the way, you'll gain exposure to cutting-edge designs, influence strategic programs, and work alongside a global network of experts in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll be doing
- Partner with account managers and customers to deliver high-impact technical solutions aligned to business goals
- Act as a trusted advisor to engineers, architects, and decision-makers within key accounts
- Drive design-in and design-win activities by providing technical leadership and guidance
- Support customers throughout the full lifecycle, from concept to deployment and optimization
- Identify customer challenges and recommend optimal use of AMD technologies, tools, and IP
Your first months
- Build strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders
- Ramp up on AMD technologies, tools, and customer environments
- Begin supporting ongoing projects and contributing to technical discussions
As you grow in the role
- Take ownership of strategic customer engagements and key opportunities
- Influence design decisions and contribute to successful design wins
- Lead technical discussions, proposals, and solution positioning
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes and accelerate adoption
Longer term
- Act as a trusted technical partner for customers and internal teams
- Shape technical strategy for key accounts and verticals
- Contribute feedback to product, marketing, and engineering teams to influence future innovation
- Support ecosystem development through collaboration with partners and third-party providers
Ongoing responsibilities
- Manage and resolve technical issues, coordinating with internal experts when needed
- Provide hands-on support such as debugging, system bring-up, and tool guidance
- Deliver technical presentations, demos, and training sessions
- Collaborate with global teams to develop and deliver impactful solutions
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with FPGA, SoC, or embedded systems design
- Familiarity with AMD adaptive computing platforms (Zynq, Versal, or similar technologies)
- Exposure to EDA tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or similar
- Experience supporting customers or working in a technical sales or application engineering environment
- Understanding of one or more relevant industries such as industrial, datacenter, robotics, healthcare, or aerospace
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience communicating complex technical topics clearly
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Advanced degree or additional certifications considered a plus
