Director of Program Management - AI & HPC Cluster Deployment

 

The Role
In this high-profile role, you will lead a team of technical program managers responsible for key AI and HPC cluster deployments from concept to execution. Successful applicants will work with AMD's customers, partners, executives, hardware engineers, software developers, business development and sales team to bring to life the world's fastest clusters for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. You will be responsible for planning, driving, and reporting on joint cluster planning, deployment, tuning, and management with top CSPs and data centers.

The Person
The right candidate will have an outstanding track record of leading program management teams, delivering cluster deployments, strong program management fundamentals, and exceptional communication skills.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical program managers to plan, deploy, manage, and tune clusters for AI and HPC workloads at key CSPs and end customer datacenters
  • Establish a structured program management framework for program execution at scale
  • Oversee cross-functional coordination, ensuring seamless collaboration between internal and external teams
  • Build executive level relationships with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders 

Preferred Experience

  • Strong understanding of cluster management, ideally for artificial intelligence (AI) or high-performance computing (HPC)
  • Leadership of complex infrastructure projects with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Familiarity with network, storage, compute, and AI models
  • Familiarity with orchestration layers (Kubernetes) and containerization (Docker)
  • Proven ability to lead high performing technical program management teams
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive alignment, and manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to successfully engage with customers, translate technical needs into deployment strategies, and foster long-term partnerships
  • Executive level reporting on program status, risks, and mitigations

Academic Credential

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified ideal but not required

Location:

Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA preferred. Remote possible.
