THE ROLE
As a Senior Field Application Engineering Manager, you will lead AMD's AI Field Application Engineering team across EMEA, India, and Asia, supporting some of the most strategic customers in the AI and data center space. You will work at the center of AMD's growth in AI, guiding a team of senior engineers who engage directly with customers to design, validate, and deploy high-performance AI solutions.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will combine technical depth, customer engagement, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with sales, business development, and engineering teams to ensure successful execution of strategic programs, while maintaining direct exposure to senior leadership up to VP, SVP, and CTO level.

You will operate in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, supporting large-scale AI initiatives and influencing how AMD solutions are positioned and delivered across global markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll be doing

• Lead and develop a team of AI Field Application Engineers supporting strategic customer engagements
• Drive technical strategy and execution for AI opportunities, including proof of concepts and customer qualification
• Partner with sales, business development, and engineering teams to support new and ongoing business
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across customer organizations and internal AMD teams
• Ensure alignment between technical execution and business objectives

Your first months

• Build visibility across key accounts, team capabilities, and ongoing engagements
• Establish relationships with internal stakeholders and customer leadership
• Assess current opportunities, risks, and resource needs across the team

As you grow in the role

• Take ownership of account execution through your team and drive progress across key opportunities
• Support and guide technical qualification, proof of concept definition, and customer engagement strategies
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities
• Strengthen collaboration between field teams and engineering organizations

Longer term

• Deliver successful outcomes across strategic AI programs and contribute to business growth
• Build a high-performing, scalable FAE organization across regions
• Influence product and solution direction through field insights and customer feedback
• Develop strong internal networks to accelerate issue resolution and drive innovation

Ongoing responsibilities

• Monitor progress across accounts and ensure effective execution through the team
• Identify and address blockers, coordinating across internal teams to resolve challenges
• Support development of value-based proposals, including total cost of ownership discussions
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture across regions
• Share insights and best practices to improve future execution

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience leading technical teams in customer-facing or engineering environments
• Strong understanding of AI workloads, systems, and software ecosystems
• Familiarity with data center technologies, including CPU, GPU, and cloud platforms
• Experience collaborating with global, cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage complex customer engagements and influence senior stakeholders
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice to have

• Experience supporting AI deployments or large-scale infrastructure programs
• Exposure to cloud service providers or hyperscale environments
• Background in performance optimization, system architecture, or AI frameworks

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field preferred

LOCATION

• Germany, with flexibility across the UK, Finland, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, or Poland
