About the Role:

Are you ready to champion safety excellence across a diverse portfolio of refineries, mine sites, and smelters? Do you bring a track record of pioneering innovative safety strategies that drive real change? If you're nodding yes, this is your moment.

As Regional Health & Safety Director, reporting directly to the President of Australia & Vice President of Operations for Australia, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to ensure zero fatalities and serious injuries. You'll lead the charge across our Western Australian operations and our Victorian smelter, each site presenting unique challenges and opportunities for transformation.

As Regional Health & Safety Director, you'll be more than a leader, you'll be a trusted advisor and catalyst for change. You'll guide a high-performing team and serve as the go-to expert, creating clear, effective pathways for our sites to escalate issues, access support, and receive hands-on, practical guidance.

Your influence will extend across all our operating locations, where you'll help shape, coordinate, and deliver impactful health and safety programs that drive measurable improvements and foster a culture of care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a regional Health & Safety team to deliver objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partnering with the Regional Lead Team to ensure key risks are understood, incidents are addressed, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Identifying and acting on high-risk areas and processes to improve safety outcomes.
  • Driving the implementation of global and regional H&S initiatives.
  • Sharing best practices and learnings across sites and regions.
  • Contributing to the evolution of global H&S strategies and programs.
  • Providing governance oversight and opportunities for improvement.
  • Staying abreast of regulatory changes and emerging risks within the region.
  • Coordinating the implementation of legal and compliance requirements across operations.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Relevant Degree
  • A track record of working within a Health and Safety leadership roles.
  • Experienced in working across multiple locations within the mining/metals industry or heavy industry.
  • Knowledgeable about fatality prevention programs, regulatory requirements, and the key prevention activities necessary to keep workers safe in a high-risk industrial setting.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate at all levels of an organisation to drive strategic objectives.
  • A collaborative leadership style where you have a passion creating a high-performance team.
