About the Role

We have an exciting opening for an Electrical Supervisor to join the team at our Wagerup Refinery! The position reports directly through to our Electrical Superintendent. This role is based on a Monday to Friday roster, with the occasional shift work.

As an Alcoa Supervisor you will play a large part in the success of work execution and people engagement. This front-line leadership role is responsible for mentorship and coaching others to reach their full potential whilst developing and upholding very high standards in safety, electrical maintenance practices whilst guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals in all areas of the business.

Other duties of this role:

  • Responsibility for developing effective EI work plans using a standardised planning process and assisting with minor project work

  • Management of the EI trades crew

  • Mentoring the crew to become an effective semi-autonomous work group that can make informed decisions to lead their own safety performance, work output, cost control, reporting and problem solving.

  • Involvement in daily and weekly planning, and development of the electrical/instrument plan each week to match business needs.

  • Developing costed work packs which contain detailed work scope, resource requirements (including labour and equipment) and parts / materials management.

What you can bring to the role

  • Electrical or Electrical/Instrumentation trade background (or equivalent) and hold a current ‘A' Grade Electrical license.

  • Supervisory Gas Fitter licence and HV Switching Operator tickets would be considered favourably

  • Well-developed leadership and communication skills to assist with co-ordinating EI maintenance teams with the work of other maintenance disciplines, negotiate issues and prioritise workload with your peers, other supervisory staff and operations management.

  • A successful history of planning, scheduling and executing electrical and instrument planned maintenance, preferably within a computerised maintenance planning system.

  • Exposure to Distributed Control Systems (preferably Honeywell) and PLC systems (preferably Allen-Bradley) is also highly desirable.

  • You should hold or be willing to complete Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation. Alcoa will provide support in obtaining accreditation.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position or have worked in a similar operation or industry to Alcoa.
