Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM, Discovery, or ITAM preferred

Work Experiences:
  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow platform administration and engineering experience

  • Direct, hands-on previous ServiceNow platform administration and engineering experience (not requirements gathering or functional coordination)

  • Demonstrated experience managing upgrades, releases, code promotion pipelines, and overall instance health in a multi-instance environment

  • Proven ability to evaluate and enforce design patterns, with a bias toward out-of-the-box configuration over custom scripting

  • Experience in a retail, distribution, or multi-site enterprise environment

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

  • Experience working alongside implementation partners (e.g., RapDev, Accenture, Deloitte) in a platform owner capacity

  • Exposure to ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Predictive Intelligence, or AI-assisted workflows

Skills:
  • Ownership mindset: operates as a technical platform owner who drives outcomes, not a ticket taker who waits for direction

  • Proven ability to evaluate and enforce design patterns, with a bias toward out-of-the-box configuration over custom scripting

  • Deep experience with CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery, including data quality management, CI lifecycle governance, and platform health troubleshooting

  • Strong technical ITSM foundation (Incident, Change, Request, Problem) as part of broader platform engineering, not as a standalone functional role

  • Solid configuration skills: workflows, forms, business rules, and Flow Designer.

  • Understanding of configuration vs. customization trade-offs, with a mindset that defaults to out-of-the-box

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you are expected to take initiative, not wait for instructions

  • Genuine curiosity about how the platform works end-to-end, not just the modules you've touched. We are looking for someone who wants to understand the whole system

Responsibilities:
  • Own the end-to-end technical health, performance, and roadmap of the ServiceNow platform

  • Set and enforce configuration standards, design patterns, and best practices, prioritizing out-of-the-box solutions over custom development

  • Lead platform decision-making with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and long-term platform integrity

  • Establish and maintain technical standards for ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, and IT Asset Management

  • Proactively manage data quality, upgrades, releases, code promotion, and instance health

  • Serve as the technical authority on platform architecture decisions, including integration design and data model governance

  • Architect and implement workflows using Flow Designer, with clear rationale for when to use Flow Designer vs. Business Rules vs. scripting

  • Design and build scalable automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve service delivery

  • Evaluate enhancement requests with a bias toward out-of-the-box capability, pushing back on unnecessary customization

  • Shape and participate in platform governance, enhancement intake, and technical design reviews

  • Monitor platform performance metrics and proactively identify and address operational risk

  • Partner with implementation partners and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with platform standards

  • Maintain documentation of platform architecture, configuration standards, and decision rationale

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy's policies and procedures, and state and federal laws regarding Human Resources activities and assist with ensuring compliance

  • Required to learn company policies, procedures, and safety rules

  • Duties may change; Team Member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior

  • Regular onsite office attendance is required
