Zulily's Infrastructure Services and Security (ISS) team builds and maintains the software that enables Zulily's teams to be productive and impactful. We are passionate about using Agile development and DevOps principles to build a moderns, automation-ready systems that scale to meet the needs of our internal customers. 

This DevOps Engineer role is key to help build and maintain our current and next-gen infrastructure. You will define and implement patterns that drive adoption and consistency across ISS' portfolio. You'll have opportunities to partner with Infrastructure Engineering, Client Services, Information Security, and many of Zulily's Customer-Facing teams. As a member of our agile team, you will participate in project and sprint planning. We have a creative culture focused on learning and experimenting. We prioritize growing from the lessons and feedback we share through these experiments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across ISS teams to develop consistent and scalable patterns for Automation tools and framework, CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate across ISS teams to develop monitoring requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement monitoring practices based on those requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement software integrations based on requirements
  • Serve as source of technical expertise and mentor for junior staff members
  • Recommend and maintain technical design methodologies, troubleshooting, processes, and standards
  • Proactively identify and resolve key technical issues
Experience We're Looking For
  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with public cloud and on-premises infrastructure and interfacing with them programmatically through APIs
  • Experience with CI/CD, project, and Knowledge management tools (e.g. Git - GitLab's CI/CD is a plus, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Linux and Windows server Operating Systems
  • Good understanding of CI/CD practices and a history of implementation
  • Hands-on programming experience developing automation with some combination of Python, Go, Bash, and Powershell
  • Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable working with various database technologies, especially MySQL, a plus
  • Multi-Cloud experience is a plus
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of related experience covering the areas listed above
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
