1. Processes all CIED interrogations performed within the device clinic in order to facilitate quality test results and optimal patient care.
a. Daily downloads electronically recorded CIED interrogations into Management System (i.e. Paceart).
b. Maintains previous database of reports for physician comparison.
c. Enters any changes in physician interpretation into Database Management System, as evidenced by random report review. d. Routes/manages alerts appropriately in collaboration with cardiology providers 2. Ensures hospital satisfaction with Device Clinic Program.
a. Facilitates timely and accurate reports for hospital reimbursement, as evidenced by charge reconciliation.
b. Provides device testing results in a format that makes reading and changing interpretation as simple as possible.
c. Demonstrates ability to remain current in the field of cardiology and ensure appropriate standards of testing are met, as evidenced by direct observation and physician feedback.
d. Follows appropriate practice guidelines as approved by practice physicians or administration.
3. Complies and Maintains patient safety objectives.
a. Performs patient education during clinic visits in addition to post implantation education.
b. Provides clinical training to staff working in cardiovascular department and/or hospital nursing staff in reference to CIEDs
c. Identifies and initiates action in relation to failing pacemaker systems. i.e.. battery depletion, lead failure or dislodgement
d. Uses knowledge to prolong life of generators, increasing the interval between implants.
e. Maintain a database for Recalls and Follow-up.
f. Maintains all aspects of patient confidentiality.
4. Clinical Performance - Assessment
a. Gathers relevant information from the patient, medical record, family, and other healthcare providers.
b. Introduces self, confirms patient ID, and verifies exam and orders prior to procedure or treatment according to hospital policy.
c. Assesses factors that contraindicate procedure i.e. medications, artifact, required information, written orders.
d. Completes all required documentation for patient tracking and billing
e. Coordinates and maintains organized patient device follow up
5. Participates in continuing education
a. Attends conferences and vendor presentations to maintain knowledge of technological advances in CIED technology b. Attends all required hospital education events
c. Maintains records of education events attended
d. Maintains records of education events attended
6. Participates in management of remote monitoring program
a. Schedules, reviews, and reports on remote downloads per clinic protocol
b. Maintains remote monitoring databases utilizing vendor sites
c. Properly communicates and manages alert data to physicians based on clinic guidelines
d. Provides patient education regarding remote monitor and remote monitoring program
7. Flexibility - all essential functions are subject to change based on needs of the department.
a. Exhibits flexibility in assignments and performance.


Experience Minimum Required
2 to 3 years experience in an EP Lab or Pacemaker Clinic.

Education Minimum Required
Bachelor of Science degree or successful completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Education Preferred/Desired
NASPE certification, CCI certification RCES.
Training Minimum Required
EP lab and Device interrogation Training Desired
Special Skills Minimum Required
Knowledge of Database management for devices.
Advanced computer skills to include MS Office.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Special Skills Preferred/Desired
Paceart experience
Licensure and/or Certifications Required
Maintains licensure or certification as required. ACLS within 1 year, BLS
Licensure and/or Certifications Preferred/Desired
