Job Title: Operations Manager, Waste Pro - A1 Balers & Compactors
Location: West Palm Beach
Reports to: Division Manager
Summary of Position
The Operations Manager oversees all operational functions for Waste Pro's Division CR01 (Balers & Compactors), ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. This role manages fabrication activities, driver training, chute and corral installations, operational planning, and coordination with general contractors and sales teams. The Operations Manager will also support the expansion of grapple truck capabilities and contribute to ongoing growth initiatives.
Essential Functions
Operational Oversight
- Manage all daily operations for CR01, including fabrication of chutes and corrals.
- Oversee both standard and custom chute builds and ensure proper material retention after removal.
Training & Safety
- Train drivers on the proper use of corrals, including how corrals allow multiple cans to be delivered on roll-off (RO) trucks, and how to install corrals on job sites.
- Train and certify teams on chute inspections, installation processes, and the proper removal of chutes once a job is complete.
- Conduct operational inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Chute Installation & Productivity
- Manage chute installation operations based on labor standards of two employees per hour.
- During installations, train teams on completing inspections and documenting work accurately.
Site Evaluation & Planning
- Review and oversee site plans from general contractors (GCs).
- Conduct onsite visits to determine whether customization is needed for containers, chutes, or corrals.
- Utilize the checklist created by Sales Representative Michael to determine the appropriate container size (from 40 yards up to 95 yards).
- Obtain customer signatures on chute inspection forms upon completion of inspections.
Project Completion & Material Handling
- Ensure that once a job is completed, chutes are properly removed, the customer is billed accordingly, and all materials are retained by the company.
- Ensure all recovered chute materials are transported safely back to CR01, properly accounted for, and stored for future reuse.
Fleet & Equipment Development
- Support efforts to expand and optimize grapple truck capacity and route efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years in transportation, construction, and/or waste services.
- Minimum of 5 years of diverse management experience.
- Strong project management and resource planning skills.
- Ability to lead, direct, and delegate effectively.
- Proven experience in motivating, coaching, and counseling employees.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook) for recording, analyzing, reporting, and sharing information.
- Basic math skills; fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Specialized knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements.
- Experience analyzing processes, summarizing findings, and making recommendations to management.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of waste industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and work effectively with challenging clients.
- Experience preparing and managing budgets and resolving employee relations issues as needed.
- Ability to manage complex, dynamic situations requiring sound judgment, strategic/tactical prioritization, and a strong sense of urgency.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- CDL license preferred.
- IF CDL license held, DOT Medical Card maintained or qualified to obtain as required.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Normal setting for this job is carried out in office, field and maintenance facilities.
