About the Job
As an Outside Sales Representative (OSR), you will call on primarily small and medium-sized commercial accounts in a field-based position to generate new sales. It's all business-to-business (B2B) sales, doing new business development 100% of the time. We call this job a “HUNTER”, and for good reason. You are:
1) Hunting down the new business through research and prospecting;
2) Cold calling to influence potential commercial customers (small and/or less complex accounts) into setting appointments;
3) Conducting an extensive needs analysis with the customer;
4) Matching Waste Management services with customer needs and presenting a comprehensive solution;
5) Negotiating and closing the deal;
6) Conducting post-sale administrative work to ensure product/service implementation is successful.
About You (The Ideal Candidate)
You are someone who not only enjoys meeting new people, but you love finding out what makes them tick. And then, once you've befriended them, you want to help them in whatever way you can. You're motivated to not only achieve your goal, but to exceed it in whatever way possible. You have a relentless, “never say die” attitude and you love a good challenge. And, oh yes, you want to make some money while doing it!
About our Minimum Requirements
At a minimum, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of business-to-business sales experience. This needs to be business-to-business (B2B) sales experience, which means that you've cold called and prospected via phone and in-person in order to obtain customer appointments.
About our Preferred Requirements
We'd prefer that you have B2B sales experience specifically in a hunter capacity. You'll have accomplishments under your belt, and you should be proud of those – maybe it's winning a sales contest or exceeding goal for 6 months in a row or being Sales Rep of the Year. Whatever it is, we want to hear about it! Also, you'll be able to navigate a CRM tool pretty easily – and if it's Salesforce.com, then we're in business!
