RELIEF-AS NEEDED POSITION
Position Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides diagnostic, consultative and treatment services for individuals with hearing, language, speech and swallowing disorders in accordance with established procedures and the plan of care established for individual patients. Works in coordination with attending, consultative and radiology physicians as well as other disciplines of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with the established plan of care. Provides speech therapy services by evaluation, and treating patient with activity limitations/participation restrictions in language, swallowing, linguistics, cognition, voice, articulation, fluency, communication and hearing. Plans, and conducts rehabilitative programs, which contain good quality outcomes that are r/t the patient's need for language, swallowing, communication, cognitive, and other related activity limitations an participation restrictions. Coordinates and collaborates with other disciplines in the application of rehabilitation philosophy and its concept. Holds self accountable for adhering to all standards, policies and procedures.
Education: Master's Degree in Speech Therapy (Clinical Competence) required.
Licensure/Certification: SLP license from the State of MD. CFY within one (1) year. BLS-Basic Life Support certification is required, but will provide training if necessary.
Experience: Satisfactory completion of educational program which prepares with pertinent knowledge, performance skills and abilities to analyze and solve problems with relation to Speech Therapy.
