Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Academic Affairs and close consultation with Director of Graduate Admissions, incumbent will provide support to both the academic affairs and admissions functions of the Graduate Division. It is anticipated that the incumbent will spend approximately 50% time in each unit. Incumbent will advise and assist faculty, staff, and students in all graduate degree programs. Must understand and apply policies and procedures pertaining to requirements for higher degrees on this campus and assist in resolving issues that arise. Responsible for processing graduate student petitions including enrollment adjustments, directed studies, waive/substitute/transfer course work, and others. Incumbent will assist in answering inquires via phone and the general email for academic affairs and admissions. Assist with committee nominations, advancement to candidacy, dissertation/thesis format reviews, and student graduations during high volume periods. The incumbent will also assist in the graduate admissions to manage the application process by providing effective support as liaison, resource, and counselor for applicants for admission, graduate program faculty and staff for over 50 graduate programs on campus.The budgeted hiring range is between $52,000 â $63,000. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment. Minimum Requirements Knowledge of complex U.S. visa and immigration procedures, compliance issues, and employment eligibility/authorization for international students and scholars.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.

Knowledge of UC system-wide, Academic Senate and Graduate Council regulations regarding graduate admissions and graduateacademic affairs.

Working knowledge of federal regulations as they apply to FERPA.

Knowledge of Banner, File Maker Pro, and EXCEL.
