Manager of Physician Compensation
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as our Manager of Physician Compensation, UCM Care Network for the Finance-Operations division. Here, you will be tasked with working with leadership on physician compensation design, implementation, and ongoing administration to refine and establish competitive compensation policies. The manager will drive analytics of this work to assemble compensation packages and related incentive programs. We are interested in a transformational change agent that can collaborate effectively with other leadership across our enterprise and directly impact the financial success of our healthcare system as we continue to grow in the greater Chicago community.
It is important for the manager to develop analytical materials that enable enterprise-wide constituents to gain consensus on physician compensation philosophy and desired strategy. The Care Network Manager of Physician Compensation will perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of healthcare and financial data to support program management for all roles in care delivery. This includes analyzing compensation plans of existing businesses and provide summary for leadership review. The Care Network Manager of Physician Compensation will be able to provide recommendations on compensation model and metrics that incent physician productivity and performance and aligns with the organizational and financial objectives of the business as well as maintains a competitive position relative to the market The Manager will also perform monthly and annual physician incentive calculations to ensure integrity and alignment with approved compensation contracts.
The Manager of Physician Compensation must be a strong communicator and comfortable working with a broad audience and presenting information during smaller meetings and committee discussions. Strong relationship building skills and confidentiality with sensitive information are critical. A successful Care Network Manager of Physician Compensation will be good at making financial and compensation related topics simple to digests.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Equivalent additional experience may substitute for educational / certification requirements.
- Minimum five years' experience in a progressively responsible analytical position in a health care or comparable environment required.
- Experience with hospital physician compensation analytics and governance, academic hospital experience a plus
- Advanced computer skills required including knowledge and proficiency with spreadsheet and database programs.
- Able to articulate issues and defend positions in a professional and substantive manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills essential.
- EPIC clarity certification is a plus
