Description

U.S. Bank's Model Risk Management division is responsible for the management of enterprise-wide model risks associated with the Bank's development, deployment, and maintenance of quantitative models. This role provides project management and support to multiple analyst teams in Model Risk Management responsible for the validation of all statistical models used as part of the financial decision making processes across the institution. Responsibilities include maintaining a project plan and schedule for model validation groups covering a wide variety of products and purposes, partnering with developers and/or external resources to manage communication and ensure efficient allocation of development and validation resources, as well as assigning tasks and communicating the plan to analysts and managers. The position will be responsible for maintaining a Vendor Management program for all of Model Risk Management to manage the engagement, negotiation, planning, execution, and maintenance of all vendor relationships and projects. Other responsibilities will include coordination of internal and external regulatory and audit requests, development of validation procedures to enhance the effectiveness of operational controls and consistency, as well as design training programs for new analysts. This role will require superb project management and communication skills with various deliverables including presentations, written reports, and procedures.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years of applicable experience (preferably in project management, model risk management, or model development functions)

Preferred Skills/Experience

- PMP, FRM, or other financial project management certification

- Thorough knowledge of applicable regulatory rules, guidance, or supervisory letters (SR 11-7, SR 15-18, OCC 2011-12)

- In depth knowledge of Bank products and services

- Demonstrated independence, collaboration, and leadership skills

- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills

- Strong project management software experience including Microsoft Project, PowerBI, SharePoint

- Advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry risks, competition risks, and risk management approaches

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including familiarity with data visualization tools
