The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking an M.D. or M.D. /Ph.D. or D.O. board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Pathologist.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for signing out pediatric surgical pathology cases, including liver and kidney biopsies, pediatric cytology and autopsies. The candidate is also expected to be involved in teaching various student levels, conference presentations, and collaborative research activities with various clinical sections.
St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is a tertiary care, pediatric health care hospital in Northeast Philadelphia, a partnership of Tower Health and Drexel University. The hospital is a level 1 trauma center hospital that has academic affiliations with Drexel University College of Medicine with training and educational programs (Residency and Fellowship) in most pediatric medicine and surgical specialties. The department is also involved in the multiple education programs, which include high school, undergraduate, graduate and post graduate courses. Tower Health, in collaboration with St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, sponsors an active Medical Laboratory Student program and a Pediatric Pathology Fellowship program.
Academic appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure-track) in the Department of Pathology at Drexel University College of Medicine. The candidate is expected to contribute to educational and scholarly activities in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine based at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Qualifications
Interested individuals must be Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/ Clinical Pathology or AP and Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatric Pathology. The candidate must be eligible for an active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical licenses.
