The Medical Staff Quality & National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) Coordinator (MSQ/NDNQIC) provides structure and coordinates the quality and utilization related medical staff committees as well as Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) activities for the medical staff. The MSQ/NDNQIC assumes responsibility for screening of medical records against approved medical staff criteria as required by medical staff and accrediting agencies. The MSQ/NDNQIC assists in data collection, aggregation and analysis for both Medical Staff Quality and The National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Requires organization and detailed record keeping. Must be able to work independently and with a variety of team members to ensure optimal documentation and coding. The ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal format is mandatory. Must work in a professional manner with internal and external customers to facilitate the work of the Medical Staff Quality program and NDNQI program.
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in nursing (RN); Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or CCS coding credentials required; CPHQ preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3 -5 years' experience in healthcare required. Experience with computer programs, data management, and clinical documentation improvement preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS; Position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Walking, standing, and sitting for various periods of time required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office or conference room setting.
