The Medical Staff Quality Coordinator (MSQC) provides structure and coordinates the quality and utilization related medical staff committees as well as Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) activities for the medical staff. The QMRC assumes responsibility for screening of medical records against approved medical staff criteria as required by medical staff and accrediting agencies. The MSQC assists in data collection, aggregation and analysis.
Requires organization and detailed record keeping. Must be able to work independently and with a variety of team members to ensure optimal documentation and coding. The ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal format is mandatory. Must work in a professional manner with internal and external customers to facilitate the work of the CDI and Medical Staff Quality program.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associate degree in nursing (RN); Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or CCS coding credentials required; CPHQ preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 -5 years' experience in healthcare required. Experience with computer programs, data management, and clinical documentation improvement preferred.
Three to five years of recent acute hospital experience, three to five years of quality experience
