Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Marketing and Communications Plan Development and Implementation Develop, update, and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the organization. The marketing plan will aim to develop awareness of the clients initiatives with a variety of target markets, including property owner ratepayers, downtown businesses, residents, employees, and civic partners that include the City of Newark and several non-profit organizations. Supervise a marketing associate and/or utilize qualified local vendors to carry out various components of the marketing and communications plan. Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of marketing materials, such as event promotions, newsletters, posters/banners, website, annual report, etc. Social Media Strategy & Implementation Develop, implement, and promote social media strategies using a variety of tools, including the organizations website, enews, and social media platforms, which can best reach target markets. Oversee, monitor, and evaluate content for the ongoing use of social media by the client. Brand Development and Downtown Newark Develop and carry out a brand management strategy as part of the clients new strategic plan. The brand will aim to distinguish the clients role in civic efforts to improve downtown Newark and will be consistent with and leverage similar efforts by partner organizations. Contribute to a cohesive marketing and branding identity for downtown Newark by representing the client in strategic marketing and branding initiatives pursued by the clients civic partners. Programming for Stakeholder Engagement Assist and coach client staff to design and implement meaningful engagement opportunities for the many stakeholder groups that are affected by client services and programs. Options may range from periodic one-on-one meetings with key stakeholder interests, roundtable discussions with small groups, and/or ongoing committees that are charged with providing creative input into the execution of client initiatives. Public Relations Serve as a spokesperson for the client in matters related to services, programs, special events, and crisis communications. Tasks include developing relationships with local print, television, and electronic media, preparing media releases, providing media training for client management staff, and promoting the organization.
