The Functional Analyst 5 is a senior-level functional analyst. This contract position comprehensively identifies, documents, and demonstrates the optimal technical and user experience through required activities/deliverables and driven processes, to ensure these are aligned with the business requirements and solution scope. This position provides leadership and strategy on discipline trends. The Functional Analyst is an assigned member of a Project Team within a portfolio.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.
Works with the Cloud Enablement Team to represent project requirements related to cloud services architecture.
Focuses on cloud services architecture costs/benefit analysis to determine technical, operational and financial solutions
Works closely with the Enterprise Cloud Architect and the Cloud Platforms team to establish standards and implements processes related to cloud architecture
Works with portfolios to evaluate cloud, virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, in-house solutions and the organization's IT platform/infrastructure to determine the highest potential return for cloud deployment
Exceptional communication skills in interactions with clients, end users, developers and others throughout the design process
Exceptional ability to create and share a vision, build and maintain relationships, advise and counsel with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to research and understand a customer's needs, problems, and potential design constraints
Successfully demonstrate the ability to instruct others about design principles, patterns, and processes
May act in a liaison capacity with other divisions and departments
Evaluates progress and results and recommends major changes in procedures
Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action or decision
Leads efforts to elicit, represent and communicate requirements through requirements-driven processes, written requirements deliverables, diagrams, flow charts, presentations, etc.
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
10+ years professional experience
Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge and ability to consult in cloud technologies, including cloud compute, storage, databases, networking, costs, etc.
Experience implementing solutions within AWS (or Azure)
Proven knowledge of requirement elicitation and requirement driven process and best practice
Advanced knowledge and understanding of technical and operational application functionality
Broad business acumen with transferable skill sets across industries/portfolios
Proven exceptional written, presentation and verbal communication skills
General knowledge of processes and methods (i.e. Agile, Scrum)
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge and application in all the following competencies and expert in at least two:
IT & Cloud Services Cost Analysis

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
