The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Senior Natural Resource Consultant (Consultant) with expertise in developing innovative land use planning and permitting solutions for clients through strategic evaluation of overall project goals and regulatory frameworks. The Consultant responsibilities include coordinating with regulatory agencies and project proponents on project requirements, permit and related document preparation, managing projects, and assisting and leading in the pursuit of new work. Success will be measured in the Consultant's ability to provide technically sound and adequate permitting solutions to our clients, manage tasks and projects within the contracted scope of work and associated budgets, and contribute to the successful pursuit of new work.

Essential Job Functions:
Rapidly integrate yourself into Tetra Tech to understand and leverage Tetra Tech's diverse resources and service offerings in your associated practice areas. Collaborate with operations and technical focused team members to advance business development, project implementation, and practice area strategies and goals. Work with operational leadership to support team composition and revenue growth goals.
Provide senior support to Tetra Tech's Permitting and Natural Resources group with a focus on land use planning. Contribute to business strategy development, client engagement, opportunity identification and pursuit, and team member education and mentoring.
Provide services that result in clients' desire to continue and grow their business relationship with Tetra Tech.
Actively participate with local and regional project teams to support project deliverables. Work toward being known within Tetra Tech as a go-to team member for your core resource services. Contribute to proposal preparation and project implementation.
Engage and retain relationships with commercial industrial companies, law and energy firms, and state, federal, and local government.
Capitalize on your personal industry relationships/expertise/professional network to maintain and establish new relationships and ensure they are managed for growth.
Progressively manage small to larger projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
M.S. degree in a biological or physical science, or a closely related discipline.
Fifteen years of direct experience in natural resource (biological and physical) management and compliance, permitting, and baseline assessments related to rights-of-ways on public, state, and private lands.
Expertise and/or strong understanding in developing innovative land use strategies and managing teams of specialists in key natural resources including botany, fish and wildlife, surface and groundwater, cultural resources, soils, and geology, and experience in the implementation of those strategies in permitting, industry operations, and data management solutions.
Experience working across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary solutions for a variety of market segments.
Experience with public engagement and comment resolution.
Experience working collaboratively with regulatory agencies to successfully receive approvals on rights-of-way and special land use applications for energy infrastructure.
Ability to delegate project and operation tasks to more junior team members.
Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations to customers and management.
A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with data management tools/applications.
Knowledge of emerging technologies in cultural resource documentation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to drive multiple hours to client, agency, or project locations.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing 40 lbs over uneven ground in all weather conditions.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
Typical work environment is in an office setting. Other work environments will include working outside in all weather conditions and terrain types.
Additional Information:
Part-time temporary position, no scheduled hours. Hours will vary based on project/client needs.
Potential of remote work schedule, this arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company's discretion.
Target salary range: $40 / hour to $50 / hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
