DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plant Manager in Gliwice Poland, Aftermarket Plant 

This is a great opportunity to join us as a Plant manager in our Aftermarket Plant in Gliwice, Poland where you will be responsible for directing the full operations of the shocks & struts facility including business, finance, technical & manufacturing functions. You will manage and coordinate the people and processes in order to drive continuous improvement and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct daily plant activities, including supervision of salaried staff
  • Plan and manage all financial aspects of the facility (AOP, capital, etc.)
  • Plan and manage all quality, environmental health and safety compliance and regulator aspects
  • Champion of plant continuous improvement activities (BOS, Lean, TVM, Kaizen) and supply chain
  • Identify and track key measures to monitor facility/function effectiveness, and set and monitor staff goals and objectives
  • Drive development of facilities processes and future capabilities
  • Ensure all people and customer requirements are maintained to the highest standard
  • Cooperation with central planning
  • Perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions
  • Work with staff to set plant and personal goals and monitors the performance to AOP
  • Drive employee engagement throughout facility
     

Additional projects:

  • Champion the development of all team members, mentor employee performance and establish development and improvement plans
  • Succession Planning
  • Interface, planning, visits with customers, engineers, and sales
  • Champion Strategic Planning team   


REQUIREMENTS:

Required skills:

  • Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs 
  • Assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Time Management – Managing one's own time and the time of others
  • Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem 
  • Oral Expression – The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Guiding, Directing and Motivating Subordinates – Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
  • Team working and ability to encourage and motivate people
  • Ability to work in very dynamic environment (VUCA world) 
  • Self-driven person, effective one who could be a role model for others 
     

What will make you successful: 

  • Bachelor's degree from a technical university or related
  • 7+ years of related business and managerial experience required
  • Held various levels of management positions with proven proficiency and effectiveness
  • Working knowledge of automotive industry and related systems (preferred experience in aftermarket industry)
  • Fluent in Polish and English language
