The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting an academic pediatric infectious diseases faculty member. We are accepting applicants whom completed their residency in an ACGME approved school. The appointment is 100% (full time). The position is open at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank (commensurate with qualification and experience) in the Clinician Educator line. (https://med.stanford.edu/academicaffairshandbook/chapter-3/criteria.html). The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in clinical care and clinical teaching.

Candidates will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and research or other scholarly activities of the Department of Pediatrics and serve on certain departmental committees. The candidates will be expected to provide clinical service at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) and participating regional hospitals. The position will have an administrative component based on the needs of the division and hospital support. The successful candidate must have the following experience/qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Successful completion of an approved pediatric residency training program
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases
  • Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases
  • Eligibility for a California Medical License
  • Proven excellence in clinical care, education, and administrative experience is required.
  • The experience or ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Training and/or experience in antimicrobial stewardship and/or infection prevention and control is strongly preferred.
