Through our Commercial Banking segment, we cover Multinational Corporate clients (MNC) primarily across our footprint markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Senior Bankers and Global Relationship Managers ensure that the needs of our clients are met across all markets and product lines. They are responsible for client acquisition and business origination.
The Client Manager provides a wide spectrum of support to the Global Relationship Managers on their respective client portfolios and maximises operational efficiency. He/she is is responsible for managing the client portfolio focussing on maintaining portfolio credit quality, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures and ensuring system data integrity.
The role involves close partnership with internal stakeholders ( not limited to Credit Analyst, IMO, Process and Governance, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Risk and FAM's). The role also requires active engagement and collaboration with colleagues in our footprint markets covering foreign local and regional subsidiaries of our MNC clients. In addition where applicable and in agreement with the Relationship Manager, the Client Manager supports the Relationship Manager in business origination matters and client acquisition.
Lead / support the establishing the Network Desk
§ Support the development and implementation of the strategy and go to market plan to help create a tangible pipeline of German MNCs with presence in CB footprint markets with accountability for delivering financial performance objectives (revenues, costs, RoRWA, etc) § Primarily responsible for providing direct sales support on post origination activities
New Business Origination and Relationship Management
§ Actively identify, connect and meet German Multi National Corporates (“MNCs”) with significant business interests in CB market to scope out opportunities and help coordinate a cohesive value proposition pitch together with CB Network RM's. § Leverage relationships at HQ level to facilitate introductions and connections between decision makers in subsidiary entities and CB Network RMs in the respective markets § Connect and network with the relevant intermediaries in these countries (law firms/ trade bodies etc) who can provide early information as well as leads for new investments into CB markets. § Support CB network countries in organizing roadshows and meetings with the MNC's parent office. § Ensure sufficient understanding of client needs, as well as cultural sensitivities / local business practice nuances through regular client calling (including face to face) and ensure this is disseminated and communicated to the Network RMs
Procedural Oversight and Operating Rhythm
§ Support the Global Relationship Manager with managing the Group relationships § Ensure regular and active coordination with all CB Network Bankers (especially along key corridors) § Enable and ensure adherence to sales discipline in accordance with the CB Sales Management Framework including providing support in Pipeline and Account Planning (if applicable)
Risk Management and Governance
§ Oversight and accountability for implementation & application of applicable Policies & Procedures from a Network perspective including but not limited to Non- Presence Countries (NPC), Country Engagement Rules (CERs) and other applicable cross border procedures.
Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance standards and practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines Embed the Group's values and code of conduct and develop a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
§ Ensure risks are appropriately identified and managed; and the Group's governance framework, oversight and controls are adhered to
Our ideal candidate:
· Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance with significantly above average results
· Fluent in German and English
· Experience working in a Corporate or Wholesale environment (including internships) is desirable but not essential
· Team-oriented but also able to act with own initiative and autonomously
· Pro-active and solution oriented work attitude analytical and credit skills, multicultural displaying awareness and sensitivity
· Ability to work under pressure and within tight timeframes
· Ability to interface credibly and confidently with seniors and audiences at all levels within key stakeholder groups, and to relate to and manage people (regardless of level)
· Ability to network and manage a matrix organization structure i.e. to balance the differing objectives of business and functions
· Good understanding and knowledge of German corporate and banking landscape
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
· Proven relevant experience in Corporate / Commercial / SME Banking / financial services in relationship management / product sales and / or product roles
