Summary

Inpatient Services Medical/Surgical/Telemetry 4BV unit is located on the 4th floor of the Pelham Medical Center. It is comprised of 24-beds designated for the Medical Surgical population, all of which may be remote telemetry monitored. (This includes 3 negative pressure rooms and 3 hemodialysis ready rooms)

Position Summary

 

The Nurse Manager organizes and directs the administration of a defined clinical area with 24-hour responsibility and accountability.  The Nurse Manager applies the management concepts of planning, organizing, directing and controlling to implement the clinical nursing program in defined areas. The Nurse Manager will collaborate with leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's culture, mission, vision and values. Associates are encouraged to support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's involvement in the community we serve.

             

Minimum Requirements

 

Education         

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN

 

Experience        

  • 3 years nursing experience

 

License/Registration/Certifications        

  • Current R.N. licensure in the state of South Carolina or compact state
  • BLS provider

Preferred Requirements

 

Preferred Education     

  • MSN

 

Preferred Experience    

  • Experience in management, clinical area, customer service, fiscal experience

 

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications    

  • National Certification applicable to your current job and department

  • Adheres to all policy/procedures of the organization
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ensures compliance with all clinical expectations of regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory
  • Identifies purpose and goals of nursing service and nursing education
  • Assumes responsibilities for nursing care in assigned area including but not limited to coordinating/organizing staffing, directing and evaluating nursing care
  • Manages budget preparation toward provision of adequate personnel, supplies and equipment
  • Performs a variety of administrative, human resource, financial, quality improvement and patient experience duties
  • Develops and participates in orientation and in-service education programs for areas of specialization; assists and works cooperatively with faculty and student nurses who have clinical practice in the same area
  • Mentors/develops associate
  • Identifies opportunities to standardize processes and optimize systems that will lead to increased safety, and develops/ participates in safety education programs and apparent cause analyses as required
  • Investigates and analyzes patient or associates processes and provides guidance and problem-solving opportunities to insure optimal patient care
  • Initiates and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the goals of the annual operating plan
  • Identifies the need to develop or revise policies and procedures
  • Participates in purposeful nurse/leader rounding for improved outcomes
  • Formulates a plan for professional growth
