Engraving serial numbers and other engraving on SIG SAUER firearms as required and/or requested by our customers using various laser cutting machines. Accurately logging parts to the firearms acquisition and distribution book required by ATF.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Determine engraving machine settings and enter information into machines as appropriate.
*Scanning a traveler for each piece engraved to log that firearm and serial number in the A&D book.
*Cleaning the laser eye surface to ensure a clean, legible cut avoiding imperfections.
*Positioning and clamping work piece into holding fixture, ensuring proper placement of all parts.
*Operating machine to engrave serial number or other custom engraving onto firearm.
*Reviewing serial number on each piece to ensure that it's legible.
*Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of moderately complex mechanically operated machinery.
*Performs all engraving related tasks to meet defined output rates.
*Performs basic measurement tasks to verify product is within specifications.
*Set aside any rejected pieces.
*Reports any problems, deviations, or quality concerns to a lead or supervisor.
Education and/or Experience:
*High School Diploma/GED.
*Basic computer and math skills are required to be successful in this role.
*Prior experience with metal finishing/polishing preferred but not mandatory.
*Capable of following detailed work instructions.
*Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi task and adapt quickly to change.
*Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
*Ability to communicate effectively.
*Sig Armorers Course recommended.
*Good hand to eye coordination.
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
