The US Air Force' Space and Missile Command (SMC), US Navy's Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), and Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) are teaming together to develop the next generation of infrastructure and platform to support the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) domain. The project, Section 31, is in the early stages of development and in need of your support on its' Platform as a Service (PaaS) team. Join a new program near the very beginning, and help shape the future of the United States' space superiority! For the PaaS team, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has an understanding of Agile development
  • Is willing to learn new methodologies (such as Pivotal) and technologies while blending different skill sets as various needs arise
  • Ability to work closely with others. Often, developers will work in paired programming, sharing the same development environment for high quality control
  • A desire to build towards small iterations, with weekly cycles, allowing for quicker user feedback and product delivery
  • Build balanced customer platform product teams delivering "Platform" as a capability
  • Create and implement infrastructure architectures for Pivotal Cloud Foundry deployments
  • Establish continuous delivery pipelines for deployment of Pivotal Cloud Foundry and related products in a customer's infrastructure
  • Design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Deliver apps for production and foster continuous process improvements
  • Provide operational assistance and guidance for Pivotal Cloud Foundry including; monitoring, management, disaster recovery, security compliance/auditing, networking, storage, service brokers and build packs

  • You have worked with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration tools
  • A background in deployment, automation, and related technologies
  • Knowledge of Linux / Unix systems and shell scripting
  • Experience in using git and configuration management methodologies
  • Experience in release management and supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
  • Experience with Scripting/ Software Development- builds trust with customers and able to creatively think through problems
  • Solid understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics
  • Experience with database (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL)
  • Knowledge of networking and related technologies (e.g. load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / SDN)
  • Experienced in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-


  • You have been a part of or led agile development teams
  • Empathy - enables team work in extreme environments of unknown possibilities
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS
