PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and professional support to the company's Projects in the areas of initiation & setup, analysis & reporting, and forecasting & budgeting
  • Monitors project financial activities, including revenue recognition, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, company, and contract requirements
  • Provides professional guidance and works in partnership with Program Management to execute effective cost, profit, and cash management controls
  • Assumes responsibility for the implementation of effective financial management and project accounting strategies, business processes, policies, and procedures. Consistently improves the value of delivered analytical and project accounting services
  • Interprets contractual parameters and partners with Project management to establish Project WBS and other Project setup activities
  • Partners with Project Teams to establish budget and funding profiles
  • Assists Project Teams to manage costs within the given contractual guidelines and budgets
  • Works closely with Program Management to agree on contract milestones, EAC valuations and contract financial close-out steps
  • Ensures adequate Project funding availability by utilizing/establishing a monitoring and communications process
  • Performs various analyses such as sales outlook, labor sales, and variance analysis to support corporate, divisional and project activities
  • Schedules and performs risk assessments to identify program cost and/or milestone schedule risks and trends
  • Ensures sound project financial management processes and practices
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Project personnel, particularly with individual Project Administrators and other cost management staff
  • Documents and creates flowcharts to organize departmental processes
  • Anticipates, identifies and resolves business issue and risks
  • Defines and monitors financial and non-financial key performance indicators/metrics to improve project financial management
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports information that is predictive and actionable
  • Collaborates with Operations, Corporate Departments, and/or Finance/Accounting team members to identify Business Process Improvement (BPI) opportunities and works to maximize the benefit of such opportunities
  • Directs the Change Management process to ensure that SRC's employees are prepared to execute the BPI's
  • Maximizes the synergistic benefits of BPI and SRC's software, especially SRC's ERP system
  • Enables best practice sharing and consistent use of commonly defined methods, processes, tools, and templates within Finance/Accounting or in partnership with Operations and Corporate Departments
  • Develops effective frameworks, presentations, and communications (written and oral)
  • Ensures the timely completion of reports, records, and other documentation
  • Leads, participates, and attends meetings and/or committees as appropriate
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Project and Corporate Services personnel.Coordinates financial Project Management functions with other departments, such as the Contracts or Procurements departmAssumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with outside auditors, regulators, and professional trade groups
  • May serve as a liaison between the Company and regulatory authorities
  • Ensures that the Company's professional reputation is maintained. Ensures appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding Company operations
  • Assumes responsibility for duties as required or assigned
  • Stays informed of trends and changes in the Financial Project Management field, FAR, and other applicable governmental legislative and reporting requirements
  • Remains abreast of software (including the company's ERP) functionality improvements
  • Completes daily, monthly, and annual Financial Project Management activities related to assign Jobs
  • Completes special accounting projects as assigned
