General Scope and Summary
SAGE Therapeutics is searching for an experienced SharePoint and Teams Architect Consultant with a strong background in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint/Teams integrations, implementations, migrations, governance, and user adoption. As the Architect, you will be the lead projects and day-to-day operations for SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and third party collaboration tools (i.e., Miro). The Architect Consultant will be highly experienced in the development and deployment of SharePoint solutions while ensuring a high standard of security and organizational compliance within Sage governance policies. Examples of these solutions may include enterprise content management, internal and external sites/Teams, PowerApps/PowerAutomate workflows, and Power BI dashboards/reports. The Architect Consultant will also be responsible for managing Microsoft security groups and auditing.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning:
Provide expertise and support to technical and business managers to determine how to best develop, implement, and support SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites configurations, information architecture, and solutions to meet the business need.
Contribute to strategic and functional guidance in the implementation and development of governance, standards, and policies.
Serve as the lead architect for all custom SharePoint and Microsoft Teams solutions. This includes working with all levels of business, both verbally and in writing, to determine business needs and how to address them with M365.
Anticipate changes to Microsoft offerings through a broad understanding of the technical issues and engagement in Sage's strategic direction. Partner with Infrastructure, Solution Delivery, and Information Management capability teams to architect and deliver current and future platform solutions.
Continually strive to improve the efficiency and usability of our Microsoft solutions, leveraging ongoing research on emerging development tools and strategies and understanding of business needs.
Design, develop, and customize our Intranet, department sites, projects sites, and team sites for potential integration with other enterprise systems and third party products.
Maintain the integrity and reliability of access to information, including being responsible for backup and recovery practices.
Operational Management:
Perform SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform configuration, central administration, and management.
Manage and assist analyst and engineering staff with architecture, automation, implementation, and problem resolution for continuous improvement for all Microsoft Cloud Business Applications.
Provide operational excellence and partnership with business stakeholders.
Expand feature capabilities to improve and advance the overall user experience.
Develop and maintain site templates, custom web parts, metadata, content types, and search solutions.
Create and maintain workflows, list forms, permissions (internal and external), and site creation and maintenance.
Support end users in day-to-day operations of team sites and collaboration sites.
Provide technical support, guidance, and training to users on SharePoint Online, Office365 Security Groups, and Microsoft Applications.
Partner with IT Leadership to identify priorities and project initiatives.
Development, Implementation & Deployment:
Lead the complete software development lifecycle for SharePoint and Microsoft Teams solutions, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, and testing.
Enforce and manage retention policies by working closely with Legal and Compliance.
Clearly document problems, analyses, and solutions working with Microsoft support as needed.
Educate developers on best practices for developing custom SharePoint and Microsoft Teams solutions.
Develop and maintain custom solutions.
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Basic Qualifications
College diploma or university degree in a technology-oriented field.
8+ years of Information Technology experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Expert in M365, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive administration and implementation as global administrator and developer.
Experience in SQL Server or equivalent databases, Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), SPfx, and React a plus.
Hands-on extensive experience creating and executing Powershell and Power Automate solutions and analyzing and documenting business processes.
Knowledge of information architecture and enterprise search capabilities.
Proven experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online implementations and administration.
Thorough understanding of Active Directory, SharePoint Architecture, information architecture, content management, collaboration, reports, search, Power Platform, Graph API, and PowerShell.
Extensive knowledge of O365 administration, Active Directory, industry best practices for security and regulatory compliance, monitoring, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Keen attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Ability to take initiative and move projects forward when faced with ambiguity.
Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to present ideas and solutions in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and collaborative person who enjoys working on a productive team.
Skilled at supporting several projects at one time, and reprioritize accordingly.
