General Scope and Summary
Sage Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Scientific Computing Developer to join our engineering team to support production-quality data processing and scientific computing infrastructure for Biosignals data management and analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for writing and testing scalable code for data engineering and providing production-quality Python libraries for animal and clinical Biosignals data (Electroencephalogram [EEG], Electromyogram [EMG], Polysomnography [PSG], etc.). To be successful in this role, you should have expertise with Biosignals data and analytics tools, Python, and R. You'll be working with a variety of stakeholders across Research and Development, so strong collaboration skills will be needed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinating with stakeholders to determine Biosignals data processing and analytical requirements
- Normalizing Biosignals data and database to support FAIR data principles
- Writing scalable code using Python programming language
- Testing and debugging applications, tools, and libraries
- Developing production-quality tools and Python libraries
- Support R usage of data and any Python libraries
Experience, Education, and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Requisites include excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, an ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and an ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. A demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, communicate complex issues in a simple way, and orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks is also required.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Biosignals scientific computing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Git
- Expert knowledge of Python and R
- Experience with High-Performance Computing
- Experience with Databricks platform preferred
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development
- Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required.
