Job Description :

Summary

The Senior Manager, Accounting oversees critical Fleet Accounting functions. This role manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensures compliance with regulatory standards and drives continuous improvement across accounting operations. The position requires strong leadership to manage cross-functional teams and deliver high-impact financial insights to senior leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • · Manage depreciation process, to include monthly reporting, variance analysis, report automation and policy updates. Management of this process applies to significantly material financial statement dollars.
  • · Oversee and lead scheduled depreciation reviews to identify any changes needed to depreciation policy. This includes reviews with Senior Management, partnering with IT for automated solutions, managing internal and external audit reviews, as well as developing and maintaining detailed documentation of each review.
  • · Oversee Federal Heavy Use Tax process for ~60,000 units totaling $29M annually. This includes filing, IRS related audits, coordination with internal customers (Licensing and Field Finance).
  • · Manage vehicle disposition process to include casualties, write offs and vehicle sales.
  • · Responsible for book to tax reconciliation process, which involves a comparison of all additions and dispositions in the book depreciation system vs. the tax depreciation system.
  • · Perform monthly close for used vehicle sales valuation. This includes account analysis, monthly journal entries, and validations. This also includes system reconciliations and validation of sub ledger activity.
  • · Ensure adherence to SOX controls and internal policies.
  • · Manage and mentor accounting staff. Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, delegation, and performance reviews.
  • · Lead or contribute to special projects to include IT enhancements and process improvements. Support internal and external audits with required documentation and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent field, Required.
  • Master's degree in accounting, Preferred.
  • 8 years or more in Experience in Accounting, Required.
  • Technical knowledge of GAAP Advanced, Required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
