General Summary:

The Privacy/Risk Management Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director, Quality Improvement to provide support with planning, organizing, and coordinating quality improvement activities and projects throughout the medical group. The Privacy/Risk Management Coordinator will work closely with the Privacy Officer/Risk Manager and be responsible for completing the initial review of Verge reports, maintaining the Verge reporting log, and uploading documents to Verge for reporting, summons, and complaints. The Privacy/Risk Management Coordinator will work independently as well as have responsibilities to work in collaboration with our team to support privacy, risk and quality improvement initiatives including practice education, data management and reporting, health insurance incentive programs, population health management and other value-based reimbursement programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Submit and track requests for malpractice insurance
  • Obtain certificates of insurance as needed based upon request
  • Maintain Provider/Patient Separation log;
  • Maintain HIPAA Privacy Sanctions log;
  • Support intake process for patient complaints, questions, resource;
  • Monitor privacy hotline and follow up on messages as needed;
  • Schedule and coordinate practice site visits;
  • Prepare documents and material as requested;
  • Develop templates for patient letters per complaint and grievance policy;
  • Complete patient correspondence as requested;
  • Revise policies/procedures/process job guides/job descriptions as requested;
  • Supports Quality Improvement functions as needed
  • Support the health system goals to provide quality health care to all of our patients
  • Act as a valuable resource and contact person for our practice sites
  • Assist in the communication and coordination of health insurance incentive programs
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Quality Improvement to identify and/or develop resources to aid the medical group with quality improvement projects
  • Work with the medical group s Privacy Officer/Risk Manager to identify and/or develop resources to aid in the medical group Privacy/Risk projects
  • Represent for the Quality Improvement Department at appropriate meetings, seminars and conferences
  • Represent the Privacy Officer/Risk Manager at appropriate meetings, seminars and conferences
  • Maintain and distribute routine reports to all members of our team to track progress in our quality improvement programs throughout the calendar year
  • Perform routine tasks related to health plan data management, including monitoring and maintaining data integrity
  • Prioritize, anticipate and assess quality improvement needs for our practice sites
  • Assists in the delivery of educational programs for providers and office staff
  • Acts as a bridge for information exchange between practice sites and the corporate office
  • Travels from corporate to RWJBH practice sites within New Jersey
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational and Experience:

  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in healthcare setting preferred
  • Population Health Management and/or Care Coordination Experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic principles related to Population Health, ACO, Care Coordination and Quality Based Payment Models
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record navigation
  • Demonstrates and maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations both internally and externally
  • Demonstrates awareness and value of cultural competence
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point, Excel and Word

Physical Demands:

  • Time will be divided between sitting, standing, walking and up to 65% travel to medical practices within New Jersey in personal vehicle

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment and conditions usual to a healthcare setting
