As a member of the IT team, the Solutions Architect is responsible for the assessment of business requirements, collection and identification of technical specifications, and solution design needed for the subsequent development or purchase of technology solutions.  These technology solutions include business applications, business intelligence solutions, workflow systems, purchased applications (SAAS and On-premise), developed applications, data migrations, and applications integration.

General Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop data warehouse architecture and solutions based on IT strategy and business needs following industry best practices
    • Develop technology specifications and ensure new technology solutions are designed for optimal access and usefulness, and leveraging existing technologies when possible
    • Contribute to design of master data management strategy within Rumpke's application portfolio
    • Participate in technical and business discussions relative to the future of the software solutions and BI capability at Rumpke
    • Participates in all phases of the SDLC to ensure and verify that the design meets defined business requirements
    • Gauges level of necessary support for project activities based on project type (agile, waterfall), overall complexity to ensure the solution is constructed, tested, installed, and configured correctly
    • Support, develop, and communicate development polices, standards and guidelines and procedures for the IT and business intelligence team
    • Perform ongoing architecture quality review activities to ensure both current and future capability meets architecture standards
    • Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members on the ongoing development of solutions
    • Support the BA or Project Manager in the execution of projects by identifying technical gaps and/or risks
    • Act as a feedback source for development and BA teams on the implementation, maintenance, and integration of solutions
    • Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign with IT and business
    • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation for existing architecture, roadmaps and transitions plans to support business initiatives
    • Identifies Third Part integration products and services

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Technical and solutions experience in cloud, software architecture and design, data modeling, data warehouse and analytics, and integration technologies
  • 8+ years of applicable SAP Platform and technology experience
  • 3+ years working with SAP HANA
  • 2+ years SAP Analytics Cloud preferred
  • 2+ years of experience developing in OutSystems required
  • 2+ years of SSIS experience required
  • Experience developing in SAP ABAP preferred
  • Experience in database design and management such as Oracle, SQL, and/or DB2
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Project Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or etc.)
  • Experience with JAVA, Web Services, SOAP or REST Mobile, Microsoft technologies such as .NET (e.g., VB .Net, C#, or C++, ASP.Net), and IBMi technologies such as RPG, SQL, PHP or XML
