How you will make an impact The employee holding the Payroll/Certified Payroll Administrator position is responsible for supporting a wide range of Accounting and Payroll related transactional, administrative and customer service functions within the Accounting department in collaboration with other departments within the organization. Due to the wide range of interface inside the organization, working with team members at all levels, high-level of organization and a focus on providing superior customer service and satisfaction is imperative. The Payroll Administrator will have access to and handle confidential and sensitive information so the ability to handle confidential data is imperative. A self-motivated individual with a detail oriented and strong work ethic is required. This will be achieved by performing the following duties: Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supports and coordinates closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate, efficient and correct execution of the day-to-day activities as well as assigned projects. Working with the Payroll Manager and Payroll team, takes a collaborative approach to assist with and support day-to-day activities. Actively identify opportunities for improvement and proactively resolves problems. Assists with Payroll related data entry into the payroll, HRIS and other systems, as well as filing systems to ensure compliant and accurate record management for employee payroll files. Assist with completion of verification of employment and other reporting requirements as appropriate. Help provide support to supervisory team in relations to payroll related items. Processes all state and other forms in conjunction with prevailing wage jobs and union reporting including weekly certified payroll, etc. Wage rate lookup for prevailing wage or union jobs setting rates for each county by following the DIR website and/or Union Agreement, and travel in accordance with policy. A.), in Accounting or Payroll, or a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
