The position will manage a team of 6+ and will be responsible for both month-end close as well as financial analysis. Here is a detailed job description: Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to plan, organize and manage those activities and resources related to the recording and reporting of financial information for the company and to assure that financial transactions are timely and accurate. The position fulfills this purpose for external information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and for internal information in accordance with the specific needs of management. Essential Job Functions: Maintain the company's general ledger, including supervision and review of data in a timely and accurate manner Prepare and review monthly financial statements Develops accounting policies and procedures within all departments Monitor the schedules and audit processes Coordinates the preparation of the tax returns with outside firms Ensure appropriate levels of Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Assist in the creation/maintenance of an adequate internal control environment Management responsibility for the accounting activities and staff including hiring, developing and discipline of the office staff Assist the COO and President in the protection of the Company's assets Stay current regarding accounting pronouncements and changes in the regulatory and accounting landscape Proactively seek out and implement new and more efficient systems, processes and procedures Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Certification, etc.) BBA in Accounting required CPA required 10+ years of progressive accounting experience 5+ years general management experience An advanced degree such as an MBA is an advantage for this role Experience in public accounting is an advantage for this role Skills and Abilities: Must be a decisive individual possessing a strategic focus as well as operational, implementation and detail-oriented focus perspective.
