RemX is partnered with a local university/health care organization that is seeking a Director of Patient Care.

Primary Function: Oversee supervisors and administrative support staff for TEI's Patient Services, Medical Records and satellites. Manage staff in order to support students, faculty, providers, and residents on tasks, which assist with the treatment of patients and education of students. As a member of the management team, ensure patient satisfaction and good public relations. Requires independent judgement to identify issues, provide solutions, think creatively and proactively, coordination of the staff and apply University policies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the position: As Director of Patient Care Services, this individual will be responsible for hires, leads, directs, coaches, trains, develops and disciplines patient services team members as well as establishing goals and oversees implementation of current and new processes for the Patient Services department. They will also manage computerized timekeeping and payroll system for support staff. In addition, they will also optimize, maintain and provide flexibility for staff assignments in all areas. This individual will also work in conjunction with Chiefs of Service, other clinicians, faculty, students and administration to ensure patient services is providing effective and efficient support

This role  also ensure insurance company requirements are kept current and disseminated to staff.In addition, this individual will monitor and provide real-time feedback to staff regarding all appointment scheduling, including pre-registration, day of registration, check-in, follow-up cancellations and rescheduling



Job Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in a clinical facility, preferable a high volume optometric or ophthalmic practice
  • Master's degree in business administration, health care or other related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills a must
  • Knowledge of third-party insurance and billing, including comprehensive knowledge of CPT and ICD coding required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology/abbreviations and established professional billing processes, procedures, and protocols.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
