Position Description:

This position is responsible for executing reliability based tasks such as preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and product changeover setup. Assist shift leaders with resolving production line and support equipment reliability issues. Documenting and communicating maintenance activities through the use of our web based maintenance system.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in product changeovers, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance in investigating equipment issues, develop necessary materials list and labor requirements.
  • Identify potential machine, system and component failures.
  • Identify opportunities for process or manufacturing improvements.
  • Document and communicate maintenance activities through the use of “Smart sheet” maintenance system and SAP work orders.
  • Assist in the training of process technicians and other plant associates in Good Maintenance Practices.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory for all molds/change parts and spare parts.
  • Assist with the maintenance and preparation of molds and tooling.
  • Properly tag defective parts that have been removed because of damage or use; initiate the rebuilding or repair of such parts as necessary.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the maintenance work areas.
  • Must complete and maintain certification in Electrical Maintenance, First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Initiate action(s) for food safety issues and report the issue(s) and action(s) taken to a member of the Food Safety Team.
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO Standards.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent work experience. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Highly motivated, ability to persevere when faced with difficult obstacles, outside the box thinking.
  • Proven safety, quality, and attendance record.
  • Team oriented.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairs of automated production equipment, blow molding, injection molding, material handling systems, and auxiliary support equipment.
  • Qualified to perform basic electrical diagnostics and repairs.
  • Good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC, robotics, and servo controls is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of plastics and processing theory in blow molding and injection applications.
  • Able to work 40 – 60 hours per week and cover vacations.
  • On call as scheduled for 24 hours for emergency response.
  • Must have all required hand tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
