This Manager of Inventory control will oversee the administration and operations of PGE's warehouses; be a subject matter expert in planning and inventory management and be accountable for the performance and results of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Warehouse/Materials Management/Transformer Shop/Recycling Staff:  

Manages leaders of represented teams in various locations responsible for all storeroom functions including issuing, returning, and receiving material and parts, cycle counting, stocking material, removal of obsolete stock and entering data in the inventory management system; provides daily management of teams, ensuring that all relevant standards/procedures are followed. Manages the teams responsible for the management of capital equipment and asset records lifecycle (creating asset records for brand new equipment, tracking asset disposition) and refurbishment of tools and materials. Provides strategic directions to exempt employees, checks on progress on a regular basis and adjusts directions as needed.

Storeroom/Materials Management/Transformer Shop/Recycling Operations: 

Manages team responsible for maximum productivity and efficiency of the operations in an environmentally conscious and safe manner. Maintains acceptable standard storeroom and inventory practices and policies while being responsive to internal client requests and external customer needs.

Manages team responsible for asset recovery functions and annual dead stock review. Manages the audits of storeroom practices and ensures the compliance with department policies and procedures. Researches industry practices, new technology and work practices; employs continuous improvement methodologies to ensure operations are efficient, cost effective and meet all compliance and regulatory requirements; ensures compliance with PGE policies regarding inventory control.

Manages logistics on transportation of material and equipment. Sets direction and oversees demand management for inventory. Responsible for collaborating with multiple departments to ensure efficiency and meet customer needs.

Administrative Operations: 

Develops, maintains and monitors budgets (operating, maintenance and/or capital). Oversees hiring of employees, including interviewing, onboarding, performance reviews, training, etc. Works with external vendors to resolve problems and ensure efficient flow of material. Has ownership of inventory system processes. Oversees development of inventory training certifications.

Labor Relations: 

Functions as the primary link between business agent and the work force by interpreting and enforcing work practices consistent with the labor agreement. Supports company in union negotiation efforts.

Financial Management: 

Sets strategy and develops plans, policies and processes for the accounting, budgeting and, where applicable, charging of department resources and services, including the definition of cost models and charging models; sets, negotiates, approves and manages all financial budgets and targets, ensuring that there is adequate funding for department objectives and plans.

Safety Leadership:

Promotes and trains team members and monitors safety practices. Actively engages in changing safety culture.

Resourcing: 

Oversees workforce planning and resource strategy across multiple departments, ensuring that there is adequate skilled resource to meet planned service delivery or department objectives; ensures integration with strategic human resource plans; responsible for recruitment, development and demand forecasts for multiple departments.

Professional Development: 

Determines organizational development needs in line with business needs and strategic direction of departments; generates development strategies to achieve required change; monitors progress and evaluates business benefits achieved.

Project Work:

Represents inventory business process involving company initiatives. Initiates and oversees completion of infrastructure improvement projects (CRG).

Education/Experience/Certifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance or other related field or equivalent experience.

Prefer eight or more years in materials management, contract administration, procurement, supply or a related field; utility experience preferred; supervisory/managerial experience required.
