It's in this spirit that we are currently looking to add a skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Reporting Manager to our team in Newport Beach, CA.

As FP&A Reporting Manager, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by leading a team of financial analysts including training, assistance in execution of workload, prioritizing, developing goals and career development. You'll serve as a key area in the Strategic Financial Plan process, including preparation, consolidation and reporting on results.

What You'll Do

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of financial results (GAAP and Statutory)

  • Manage and prepare ad-hoc financial analysis, reports and management presentations

  • Utilize excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills to clearly explain complex analytical topics to a wide audience (e.g. management, peers, external parties)

  • Effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with FP&A peers and other Finance, Risk Management, and Valuation partners to drive comprehensive deliverables

  • Leverage innovation and technology to enhance and drive efficiencies

Tech & Tools You'll Use

Microsoft Office, Oracle products (PeopleSoft, Hyperion)

Factors for Success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent

  • 10+ years of progressive relevant experience; Annuity/Insurance experience required

  • Ability to innovate and leverage technology for efficiencies, enhanced analytics and complex financial models

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and Oracle products (i.e. PeopleSoft, Hyperion, etc.) preferred

  • Critical thinking and quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, using well thought-out logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; demonstrated analytics skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under tight and high intensity deadlines

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems

  • Proactive in understanding drivers of business and results; ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills
