Under general direction of the Director of Marketing, this role is responsible for assisting in the implementation of marketing programs to support the Credit Union's strategic plan. Specifically, this role oversees our public relations and print media strategies to represent the credit union's brand, showcase our diverse community involvement, and provide valuable information to our members and community.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree preferred and 4-5 years of previous experience in marketing, branding and public relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate with people at all levels inside and out of the organization. Spokesperson experience preferred.
  • Strong design aesthetic and creative experience. Branding and design experience preferred.
  • Understand and exemplify OnPoint's commitment to corporate leadership, particularly the core value of service.
  • Ability to organize and budget overlapping projects and initiatives.
  • Close attention to detail and documentation is essential. Thrives in managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and high expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster and maintain relationships.
  • Proven ability to understand and apply brand guidelines across multiple channels of communication.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Cloud and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience within a financial institution is preferable.
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work special events outside of normal business hours within Oregon and SW Washington.
  • Light physical exertion with ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.

 



Responsibilities

  • • Manage day-to-day Public Relations activities with the support of our PR agency; focus on proactive communications during our strong growth period, as well as crisis communication preparedness.
    • Oversee PR strategic direction, media relationships, media and public inquiries, coverage pickup, share of voice, and writing and editing press releases.
    • Provide strategy and resources for earned, contributed and sponsored articles and packages. Writing and editing required.
    • Oversee print media strategy and custom ads for publications throughout the year. Some design work required.
    • Provide spokesperson prep, support and hosting during phone, radio or TV interviews (in-person or via Zoom).
    • Serve as company spokesperson as needed via phone, radio or TV.
    • Manage annual awards submissions and various lists with business journals.
    • Manage various programs and campaigns, including but not limited to:
    o Annual meeting for members, executives and board members.
    o Annual financial report, in partnership with various stakeholders.
    o Annual director election process at the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.
    • Track and communicate program outcomes, as appropriate, to employees, community or members.
    • Contribute to overall brand experience strategy, including creative direction.
    • Assist with development and creation of advertising and marketing materials as needed (e.g. print ads, social media copy, website copy, handouts, etc.).
    • Integrate closely with other areas of marketing (e.g. digital marketing, internal communications, social media, partnerships, etc.).
    • Incorporate credit union policies and procedures to ensure all marketing-related activities conform to applicable regulatory and credit union mandated standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
