Ochsner Health Baton Rouge currently has FULL-TIME and PRN OB/GYN HOSPITALIST opportunities for motivated candidates to join its expanding group. Practice is seeking Board-Certified/Board-Eligible OB/GYNS to provide hospital coverage beginning Sunday 7AM through Friday 7AM for both obstetrical and gynecological needs at Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge, a full-service, 150-bed hospital and the first birthing facility in the state to be recognized as a Baby-Friendly designated birth facility. The Family Birthing Center, averaging 1,600 deliveries per year, includes 8 large birthing rooms, 2 operating rooms, 4 suites with built-in birthing tubs, private patient rooms, Level III NICU, and 4 observation rooms. Responsibilities may include GYN call coverage for the ED, triage patients in Labor and Delivery, and backup office-based OB/GYNs by seeing their hospital patients when they are unavailable, start deliveries, and/or assisting in C-sections and other surgeries. Physician will remain in-house for the duration of their 24-hour shift. Program is supported by a group of employed OB/GYNs and a team of Certified Nurse Midwives.
