Job Title:  Quality and Safety Assurance Coordinator
Job location:  Tucson, AZ
Salary range – $38-52k

Job summary:

Manage and maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Material Review Board (MRB)

– Monitor the production line and perform periodic quality and safety control checks for adherence to process

– Identifies, evaluates, eliminates and/or controls potential occupational hazards resulting from human error, equipment, and/or machine operations, which may lead to injury and/or property damage

– Investigate causes and works in tandem with peers to develop solutions to internal quality and safety issues

– Recommend and lead implementation of improvements to production processes that lead to increased product quality

– Provides quality control, safety and food safety principles training for new hires, at monthly meetings and when processes are revised. Collects and approves audit information for potential suppliers

– Leads Safety Committee

– Maintain uniformity of manufacturing specs. Quality check all new and changed specs with Merchandising.

– Maintains Safety paperwork and compliance

Essential functions:

Continuing education on newly developing Quality Control techniques, and OSHA and DOT guidelines

– Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction

– Effectively and diplomatically interface with vendors, customers, employees, and managers concerning safety matters

– Provides a broader perspective based experience and customer concerns leading to a higher quality product

– Prepares correspondence related to corrective actions, audit compliance, timelines for required activities, product quality complaints, etc.

– Maintains confidentiality, and partners with Human Resources, to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal Laws including, but not limited to, the following: DOT/FMCSR, drug and alcohol testing, WC/OSHA accident investigations
