Responsibilities

United States (U.S.) Army Cyber Command's (ARCYBER) mission is to direct and conduct integrated Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Operations (IO), and Cyberspace Operations, as authorized or directed, to ensure freedom of action in and through cyberspace and the information environment, and to deny the same to adversaries. Established in October 2010, ARCYBER is the Army Service Component Command (ASCC) to the U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), responsible for conducting cyberspace operations (i.e., Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO), Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), and Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) operations), as directed and authorized, on behalf of Commander, USCYBERCOM. ARCYBER organizes, trains, educates, mans, equips, funds, administers, deploys, and sustains ARCYBER forces to conduct cyberspace operations.

 

The U.S. Army's Enterprise Cloud Management Office (ECMO), Office of the Chief Information Officer/G-6, serves as the service's dedicated enterprise cloud migration entity to enhance speed, effectiveness and efficiency of migrations to a cloud hosting environment. They drive Army plans, policy, requirements and strategies for the development of cloud environments, cloud architecture, cloud and data migration, and cloud security.

 

The Senior Cloud Solutions Architect:

Supports the Army CIO-G6 HQDA Enterprise Cloud Management Office (ECMO) with Data Architecture, Cloud Triage, and Migration expertise.
Leads cloud infrastructure design and develop detailed architecture models for the client to host test, development, and production environments.
Plans for system and application migrations to the cloud, adhering to the client's technical and business requirements
Develops and documents technical designs for integration and implementation of new cloud applications and systems
Collaborates with stakeholders to define, analyze and review business requirements for cloud-related projects
Collaborates with technical teams to define technical specifications and system design; develop technical and data architecture for securing and delivering information systems in a public cloud
Plans and develops support processes that adhere to industry and client best practices.
Communicates effectively through strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Supports integration with non-cloud technologies and vendor products/services
Assesses emerging technologies, stays abreast of industry trends, and gives advice on possible solutions/investments.



Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience, or an MA/MS degree with 8+ years of experience.  Additional 6 years of experience can be used in lieu of degree.

Experience with network operations, network security and/or network defense, preferrably in DoD or the IC

Minimum of five years of experience with cloud architecture, design, engineering, operations, and security.

Prior experience in the DOD, Service, or IC network enterprises.

Experience with cloud security techniques, methods, and processes.

 

DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level III: CISM, CISSP or Associate, GSLC, CCISO

One or more Cloud Certifications: AWS (Solution Architect Associate or Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty) or Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect) or Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification or Cisco Cloud (CCNA-Cloud, CCNP-Cloud)

Superior attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

 

Desired:

Prior experience with DoD or IC cloud operations and/or DoD cyberspace operations.

Prior experience at a service component headquarters or higher staff.

Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred.
