The Substation Electrical Engineer will contribute to electrical substation designs and calculations. You will focus on the delivery of substation systems for our high voltage substation projects. Typical projects include working within multi-disciplinary teams to assist in developing efficient and reliable solutions for intricate substation projects. Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Design to client and regulatory requirements.
    • The design and delivery of green and brown field medium and high voltage electrical substation projects
    • Develop and maintain project documentation regarding protection and control design and construction
    • Support the development of control building layouts, panel front views, P&C one line diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram, bill of material, cable schedule, wiring diagrams, etc.
    • Ability to participate in site walkdowns with client engineering an management to confirm scope and design criteria.
    • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality
    • Schedule and budget variances in a timely manner.
    • Vendor drawing review and disposition.
    • Maintaining project files.
    • Comply with project quality plans and standards
    • Data and document entry into various platforms.
    • Reporting safety, health and quality issues to management.
    • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation.
    • Assist management as directed
Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven ability to consistently produce high quality of work
    • Ability to consistently work independently
    • Advanced presentation, written, verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
    • Familiar with Electrical Calculations – AC and DC system evaluations, voltage drop, cable fill ect…
    • Familiarity with applicable IEEE / EIC codes and standards.
    • Understanding of CAD software.
    • Ability to estimate, plan, and schedule substation projects
    • Ability to support proposal activities
    • Proficient preferred in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel as well as MicroStation
Education and Experience:
    • Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution.
    • Six (6) years + of substation design engineering experience.
    • P.E advantageous but not required
